March 2011 Quarterly Newsletter
Annual enrollment information for 2011-2012
Information regarding changes to your benefits, including rates, will be released during Annual Enrollment. This is the time for you to update all of your demographic information, benefit elections, and dependent information on your Plan.
As many of you may know, September 23, 2010, was the implementation date for the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA). During Annual Enrollment you will be able to add dependents who were previously not eligible. LSU First and OGB will cover dependents to age 26 regardless of student status on July 1, 2011.
You will be required to provide a certified birth certificate in order to add any dependent up to age 26 to your Plan.
Please contact your Human Resources department to find an Annual Enrollment meeting or Benefits Fair near you. We highly encourage you to attend these meetings for important benefit updates.
Prescription Drug Coverage
Keep in mind that LSU First will pay 100% of the cost for generic equivalent medications after your Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) is exhausted. If you choose a brand name drug over an available generic drug, you will be responsible for the difference.
Prescriptions are typically filled with an available generic equivalent unless otherwise directed by your physician.
Please remember you can only fill up to a 30-day supply at retail. However, you can utilize home delivery through Express Scripts for a 90-day supply. For help on starting home delivery click here to register and follow the prompts. You may also contact Express Scripts by calling 1-866-929-5781.
Due to recent changes in IRS regulations, OTC drugs purchased on or after January 1, 2011, shall not be reimbursable unless such drug was prescribed by a physician and a copy of the prescription is submitted with the claim for reimbursement.
